The Meaning of Workplace Perceived by the Disabled Female

Abstract
This study aims to verify the meaning of workplace perceived by the disabled female through a phenomenological research method. The meaningful statements consist of 38 items and they were classified into 3 categories. Category 1 is anxiety of future career and is summarized as 1) obsessive idea to have job vs giving up in advance, 2) insufficient information and difficulties. Category 2 is difficulties in working and is summarized as 1) disqualification vs desire to be recognized, 2) loneness, shrinking and regarding other¡¯s feeling 3) double torture as a housewife and disabled at the same time. On the other hand, category 3 is the original meaning of workplace itself and is summarized as 1) consciousness of being and self-regard, 2) communication with the world and hope. The meaning of workplace for the disabled females does not only mean economic independence but also consciousness of existence to find the meaning of life as a member of society and communication with the world.
